The teen charity is a new nonprofit started in May by Ali and fellow Simi Valley resident Joe Kremer, 17, to give teens a chance to get involved and help others. The group has about 30 members. The carwash raised more than $400.

      The Simi Valley/Moorpark Hadassah group, L'Dor Vador, will host a royal high tea from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24 at the Gilded Rose Manor, 17114 Devonshire St., Northridge. The tea is the group's annual fundraiser.

Corriganville walking tour this Saturday
      The Simi Valley Senior Center will host a walking tour of Corriganville Park, where more than 400 movies and TV shows were filmed, from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 9. The registration fee is $5. Wear comfort able shoes or hiking boots.
