Magician donates tickets to kids for upcoming show
Jason Latimer, master magician and illusionist, has invited as his guests more than 150 children from local support organizations for his Magic Extravaganza at 7 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 10 at the Fred Kavli Theater in the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza.
Invitees include children from Casa Pacifica; Big Brothers and Sisters; the Boys and Girls Clubs of Conejo/Las Virgenes and Simi and San Fernando valleys; and YMCAs, among others.
His show, "Latimer, World Champion of Magic," is tailored for audiences of all ages.
Helping present the event are his team partner, the Kiwanis Club of Thousand Oaks. Also assisting are the event sponsor, First California Bank, and media sponsors Time Warner Cable and the Acorn Newspapers.
"Aside from being an amazing performer, Jason is truly a unique and wonderful individual in every way. At his young age, he recognizes the major role he can play in improving the lives and future of our next generation," said Dave Klein, the Kiwanis event chairman. "I hope that our whole community comes out to enjoy the wonderful show and show support," he said.
Proceeds from the show will benefit youth in Conejo Valley and surrounding areas through the activities of Kiwanis Club of Thousand Oaks Charitable Foundation, which was recently chosen "Service Club of the Year" for its support of youth, senior citizens and others in need.
