Simi synagogue will meet for Shabbat, barbecue
      Congregation B'nai Emet will hold two events this weekend. •A Family Shabbat service will be at 7:30 p.m. tonight, Friday, Aug. 1, at the synagogue, 4645 Industrial St., No. 2C, Simi Valley. Rabbi Michele Paskow will lead the brief service for children of all ages.

United Methodists host Bible School
      "Beach Party" is the theme for Vacation Bible School, scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday to Thursday, Aug. 3 to 7 at United Methodist Church of Simi Valley, 2394 Erringer Road. Children age 4 through jun ior high are invited to participate.
