Loves Acorn's coverage of Simi youth sports
The Acorn must be applauded for the article about the Amanda McPherson all-star tournament for girls' softball published June 20.
This is the third season in a row the Acorn has published articles about our big events- with photos- indicating it is, indeed, our local newspaper.
Simi Valley is all about youth sports, and when youth sports teams here do something special, the Acorn is there. I have noticed.
Heck, your photographer got in our way in the dugout as we tried to coach that 8U Gold championship game. . . . No complaints!
The front-pager on Santa Susana Boys Baseball's opening day and forthcoming facility improvements, published last March, was awesome. A lot of major leaguers honed their skills on those fields.
More is to come, I am sure. We have fantastic baseball and softball leagues in this town, and they all deserve equal coverage.
There are many other youth sports organizations that deserve the attention. For now I just want to thank the Acorn for attention to our big event, which spotlighted a little girl who used to play for our league.
