The Simi Community Christmas, sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is expanding to four days and is seeking choirs and other musical groups for this event scheduled for Dec. 5 to 9.

The groups will perform in a series of 25minute miniconcerts.

A different performer/performing group will be scheduled every half-hour from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5 and Tuesday, Dec. 9 as well as before and after the traditional Christmas broadcast from Salt Lake City on Sunday Dec. 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. and 8 to 9 p.m.

The church will present its annual Christmas Concert on Saturday, Dec. 6.

The event will also include a display of hundreds of Nativity sets.

Adult and youth community, school and church choral organizations as well as vocal ensembles, bell choirs and other musical performers are invited to participate.

Performances should include traditional Christmas music.

Appropriate secular and classical musical are also welcome.

Since this is a Christ-centered event, most pop/rock/country music would not be appropriate.
