Government must get involved in gas price situation
Just got in from a 10mile bicycle ride as part of my daily workout. While riding on Royal Avenue I observed two different gas stations within a half-mile apart.
For 87 octane, one was asking $4.39 and the other $4.23 per gallon. My fiancee, within Simi Valley, saw it as high as $4.59 on the same day.
It's an old story, but the last time I watched a CEO from an oil company in front of a hearing with our government in Washington, D.C., the grilling he received forced him to disclose both his salary and his bonus money.
Not to mention oil companies are showing the highest profits. He reluctantly spouted out his earnings. His bonus was higher than his salary.
I'll never forget his last remark: "Profit is not a dirty word."
To be certain, the prices will be even higher. Do I hear $5, perhaps $6 a gallon?
I am certain we will be there. Time for our fine government to do something, rather than put these folks on the hot seat. Time for some laws to prevent these companies from bleeding the American people. Jerry Alan Foster Simi Valley
