Family witnesses 'dognapping' on front lawn

2008-06-06 / Letters

On Memorial Day my granddaughter's 2½-year-old Yorkie, a valuable dog, was taken outside a fence on Gibson Street, just past Strathearn.

The dog got out, and my grandson went to get her. The house is on a corner, and as he rounded the corner he saw two Hispanic girls on bikes and a woman in a car. When they saw him coming, they picked the dog up and sped away.

According to the police blotter, this is the third small dog that has disappeared in Simi Valley in the past two weeks.

Do we have a small dog "dognapping" ring in Simi Valley? These are expensive dogs and worth a lot of money if sold. The family really feels the loss.

If you know anything about this dog, please call (805) 7947807, (805) 794-526-3223 or (805) 583-8747. The dog's name is Emily.

Thank you. Your help in this matter will be greatly appreciated. Lois Gress Simi Valley
