I have just read, "Police use decoy vehicle to catch suspected car burglar" (Acorn, May 16).

Recently, my brother's car got broken into right in front of our house, so I found this article very uplifting.

People need to be reminded not to leave anything of value in plain view in your car, even if it's locked, because even in our little town there are still burglars who will break into your car and take your valuables.

It's nice to know that the police in our area are aware of this issue and are actually doing something about it.

Some may find what the police did as a trick or a trap, but I'd rather they catch the burglars with a trick rather than on innocent civilians' belongings. Sarina Lange Simi Valley
