Graffiti 'artists' should be pay for their damage

2008-05-30 / Letters

Every Sunday on our way to church going west on the 118 Freeway, either just east of the offramp or at the Erringer Road offramp, there is graffiti on that nice new wall the city just built.

The taxpayers then pay through taxes for the city to clean it up, and the gangs go right back and do it again. I'm sure there are other areas in the city that they are attacking also.

I know the police department must know the tags by now and which gang members are doing this.

It's about time the culprits pay for the destruction and defacing of public property. I, for one, as a Simi Valley taxpayer, am tired of seeing the same place covered every week and then having my taxes pay to have the city fix it.

How about some cameras to catch them and then make them fix it. They won't be so anxious to make a mess again, hopefully. Cherie Maciel Simi Valley
