Matthew Walden The rank of Eagle Scout was presented to Simi Valley resident Matthew Walden on May 17. Matthew is a member of Boy Scout Troop 6665 and has earned 27 merit badges.

For his Eagle Scout project, Matthew organized a neighborhood drive to collect various items for the troops currently serving in Iraq.

He sent the items overseas through the organization Operation Gratitude.

Matthew is a ninth grader at Royal High School in Simi Valley.
