Two people were arrested last week after Simi Valley Police Department detectives investigated the vandalism of several campaign signs belonging to Congressman Elton Gallegly (R-Simi Valley).

Simi Valley resident Loren Jason Stone, 38, and Oak Park resident Bonnie Kathleen Murphy, 25, were arrested on the 100 block of E. Los Angeles Avenue just after midnight May 19.

Both were cited on vandalism charges and released on their own recognizance.

According to the police report, numerous other incidents of vandalism in the past few months have caused several thousand dollars in damage to Gallegly campaign signs.

The congressman is currently the incumbent for the 24th Congressional District, and is running in the June 3 primary election.

Anyone with further information on the vandalism incidents are encouraged to call the department tip line at (805) 5836950. - Darleen Principe
