Graffiti 'artists' should be pay for their damage
      Every Sunday on our way to church going west on the 118 Freeway, either just east of the offramp or at the Erringer Road offramp, there is graffiti on that nice new wall the city just built. The taxpayers then pay through taxes for the city to clean it up, and the gangs go right back and do it again.

Kudos to the City Council for passing no-fliers ordinance
      Recently I read that fines will now be charged for anyone who chooses to distribute any printed material on a motor vehicle from the article "No-fliers ordinance adopted without opposition" ( Acorn , May 16).

Taking steps for a sober tomorrow
      I am a senior in Santa Susana Magnet High School, and I'm writing this in response to the article titled, "Alcohol retailers get schooled in the art of prevention" ( Acorn , May 9). I am rather surprised that measures such as these have not been taken earlier, especially in a town where there is very little for kids to do.

      Election day is fast approaching and I have been doing some thinking on how and for whom I should vote. As a Republican, I am most interested in who should represent my district in Washington, and I am pleased to see that we actually have a choice on the Republican ballot this year.

Kindness of Gallegly staff won veteran's vote
      Since retiring from the U.S. Army and Hughes Company years ago, I have occasionally found a need for certain records from the Military Personnel Records facility in St. Louis.
