Paper mispoke about snakes
In regards to rattlesnakes, I commend you folks for reminding us all that our local rattlesnakes are becoming more active and for addressing some absolutely important safety tips, person and pet alike.
However I was thrown off by this caption in the article: "The increasing encroachment of rattlesnakes on human territory . . ."
Surely the line was intended to read "The increasing encroachment of humans on rattlesnake territory"?
After all, you needn't look further than the Larwin site off of Kuehner Drive, the site of my earliest encounters, to get an idea of who is usually encroaching on whom.
Recognizing our role in the larger picture, I believe, is just as important as wearing fangdeflecting pants. David Percival Simi Valley
