Happy to see officer's memorial has been restored
      We wanted to thank the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District for making right a wrong. Our first hike on the trail that leads to Officer Michael Clark's memorial led us to tears. The memorial had been vandalized. We traced who he was through the police department where they keep his life and story alive in the lobby display.

In praise of our peace officers
      I had occasion to be at Simi Valley City Hall on Monday, May 12. I watched the proceedings and the various Commendations and Proclamations that were on the agenda that evening. No. 5 on the agenda was the presentation of a Proclamation declaring May 15, 2008, as "Peace Officers Memorial Day.

City's no-flier ordinance hurts small businesses
      As a small business owner in Simi Valley, I find the new ordinance against flier placement unfair and unconstitutional. Because of the unpopular pornographic advertisements, that no doubt leave an address and phone number, the city has targeted every other family oriented and community-benefiting business as well.

Intersection badly in need of signal
      In response to "Signal Planned for Tapo CanyonTownship Corner (Simi Valley Acorn , May 16)." Safety is a major priority in this city; that is why we keep adding new traffic lights, but the intersections which are of constant concern are not being taken care of.

Paper mispoke about snakes
      In regards to rattlesnakes, I commend you folks for reminding us all that our local rattlesnakes are becoming more active and for addressing some absolutely important safety tips, person and pet alike. Instead of complaining- join the cause
      Mark Sims gives an endless list of duties and activities patriots could be doing instead of being a pain for the UCC of Simi Valley.
