Cajun Festival's 'Gator Run' returns for second go-round
The Rotary Club of Simi Sunset will present the second annual Gator Run 5K/ 10K Sunday, May 25.
The race will start and finish at Rancho Santa Susana Community Park, 5005 E. Los Angeles Ave., Simi Valley.
Prizes will be given to top age-group placers, and all race participants will receive goodie bags, refreshments and Tshirts, as well as a twoforone pass to the Cajun Creole Festival.
The major benefactor of the event will be the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation, which will use the money to train a search and rescue dog with a Ventura County firefighter.
The Gator Run is held in conjunction with the Simi Valley Cajun Creole Festival. Registration is $30 and will feature chip timing.
The Cajun Creole Festival will feature Cajun and Creole food, Cajun and zydeco music, dance lessons, a Mardi Gras parade, children's activities and a children's play area.
A Health and Fitness Expo will feature local businesses and services that promote healthy lifestyles.
