      As a freshman center fielder for the Oaks Christian varsity baseball team in the spring of 2006, Brent Keys terrorized TriValley League pitching with a .450 batting average, four home runs, 28 RBI, six triples and 26 stolen bases.

Wolves clamp down on the competition
     ON THE PROWL- The California Wolves inline roller hockey team, featuring 11 and 12year-olds from throughout Ventura and Los Angeles counties, won its first three tournaments of the season, going undefeated in the process. Team members include Connor Chilton (Oak Park), Trent Dolabson (Oak Park), Megan Linder (Agoura), Patrick Newell (Thousand Oaks), Ethan and Evan Somoza (Simi Valley), Ryan Tait, Aaron Murray, Kevin Morisako, Evan Nyhus and goalkeeper Jason Dreschel. The team is coached by Rollerdome hockey director Dave Serriane and assisted by Eric Somoza, both Simi Valley residents.

Royal, Simi slug it out
Simi Valley boys' tennis team beats rival, 12-6
      It may not be as hyped as football or baseball, but the rivalry between the boys' tennis teams at Royal and Simi Valley high schools is just as intense to the players. Simi Valley earned city bragging rights on Tuesday by beating its crosstown rivals, 12-6, on the road in the first of two meetings scheduled this season.
