The Ventura Local Agency Formation Commission has announced its newly elected officers for 2008.

John Zaragoza, council member for the city of Oxnard, was elected chair, and George Lange, board member of the Conejo Recreation and Park District, was selected as vice chair.

Zaragoza has served on the commission since 2000. He will serve as chair for one year or until a successor is selected next year.

Lange was elected to the commission in 2005 by the Independent Special District Election Committee. Lange will also serve for one year or until a successor is voted in next year.
