YMCA offering sign-ups for flag football

Sign-ups are underway for the Simi Valley Family YMCA's coed flag football league. The eight-week season runs from Jan. 10 through March 2.

Teams are based on age. The Y-Rookies league has two age divisions: ages 4 and 5, and 6 and 7.

The Y-Winners league has three divisions: ages 8 through 10, 11 through 13 and 14 through 16.

No tryouts are necessary, and everyone participates.

Practices and games will be at Lemon Park, 3700 Avenida Simi. Practices will be once a week with games scheduled for Sundays between 1 and 6 p.m.

Participants receive a uniform and trophy at the end of the season.

The cost is $65 for YMCA members and $130 for nonmembers. A $20 late registration fee will be charged after Jan. 2.

Volunteer coaches are also needed.
