Hooray for senior lunch programs

As a community member of Simi Valley, I was thrilled to hear about the nutrition programs going into place for the senior citizens in our town.

The idea that many cities have changed the meal plans shows that by putting in that extra effort, it can really pay off.

With the cities now preparing actual cooked meals instead of frozen foods, the number of people who are eating the meals is growing. The effect of this will exponentially increase the benefits to those involved.

By having more senior citizens going to these meals, there are indeed more chances to meet a new friend. And who doesn't want to have that opportunity?

I think that by having the community members put a little extra effort in for the food preparation, a lot more is gained. It's great to see such help and thoughtfulness in our tight-knit city. Sarah Abrams Simi Valley
