      Heights don't frighten Jim Thoman, a Simi Valley resident who works for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. No wonder he makes a pretty convincing Santa Claus, whether he's tossing gifts from his roof or climbing 20foot ladders to decorate light poles.

'Parade of Lights' returns to Ventura Harbor this weekend
      The Ventura Harbor will present the 31st annual Parade of Lights and Fireworks display tonight, Friday, Dec. 14 and Saturday, Dec. 15. The carnival will begin at 5 p.m., boat light parade at 7 p.m. and fireworks at 9 p.m.
