Amateur artists display work

The Amateur Art Show took place on Nov. 16 at the Senior Center with about 100 people in attendance. Artists displayed paintings in oil, watercolor, pen-ink, pastels, ceramics and woodcarvings.

Two teachers demonstrated their techniques. Anne Cannata painted a watercolor of roses and Dottie Stage showed her woodcarving techniques.

Amateur artists who demonstrated their skills were Kathryn Smith (oils), Donna Hull (watercolor), Connie Lee (oils), Harry Reyugala (watercolor), John Petrones (pen-ink), Jack Bryant (penink), Ken Akamine (woodcarving) and Viola Cline (woodcarving). The drama club presented a skit in honor of Walt Disney's art.

Nancy Wright and Gene Hayden coordinated the event, with assistance from Tina Lars.
