Trailerblazers say: 'Take a hike'

• Saturday, Dec. 1. Moderate 7-mile hike to the Devil's Punch Bowl in Pearblossom.

Meet at Stearns Street Park and Ride at 8 a.m. Wear boots and bring a snack and 2 to 3 quarts of water.

• Sunday, Dec. 2. Moderate to strenuous 4.8-mile hike at the Rocky Peak Trail in Simi Valley. Meet at 4 p.m. at the Rocky Peak trail head at the end of Rocky Peak Road on the Santa Susana Pass. Bring water.

• Tuesday, Dec. 4. Easy 3mile hike at the Long Canyon Trail in Simi Valley. Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Long Canyon parking lot, intersection of Long Canyon Road and Wood Ranch Parkway. • Thursday, Dec. 6. Moderate 5mile hike at the Chumash trail. Meet at 6 p.m. at the Chumash trail head, end of Flanagan Drive in Simi Valley, off the Yosemite offramp. Bring water.

• Saturday, Dec. 8. Ten-mile hike to Lower Arroyo Seco in the San Gabriel Mountains above Flintridge. Meet at the Stearns Street Park and Ride at 8 a.m. Bring 2 to 3 quarts of water and lunch.

• Sunday, Dec. 9. Moderate to strenuous 4.8-mile hike at the Rocky Peak Trail in Simi Valley. Meet at 4 p.m. at the Rocky Peak trail head, end of Rocky Peak Road on the Santa Susana Pass. Bring water.

• Tuesday, Dec. 11. Easy 3mile hike at the Long Canyon Trail in Simi Valley. Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Long Canyon parking lot, intersection of Long Canyon Road and Wood Ranch Parkway.

• Thursday, Dec. 13. Moderate 5-mile hike at the Chumash trail. Meet at 6 p.m. at the Chumash trail head, end of Flanagan Drive in Simi Valley, off the Yosemite offramp. Bring water.

• Sunday, Dec. 16. Moderate to Peak Trail in Simi Valley. Meet at 4 p.m. at the Rocky Peak trail head, end of Rocky Peak Road on the Santa Susana Pass. Bring water.

•Tuesday, Dec. 18. Easy 3-mile hike at the Long Canyon Trail in Simi Valley. Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Long Canyon parking lot, intersection of Long Canyon Road and Wood Ranch Parkway.

•Thursday, Dec. 20. Moderate 5mile hike at the Chumash trail. Meet at 6 p.m. at the Chumash trail head, end of Flanagan Drive in Simi Valley, off the Yosemite offramp. Bring water.

• Saturday, Dec. 22. Moderate 10-mile hike at Chesboro Canyon, following a stream to Sulfur Springs through Palo Comado Canyon. Meet at 8 a.m. near Donut Delite at the corner of Madera and Royal. Bring 2 to 3 quarts of water and lunch.

• Sunday, Dec. 23. Moderate to strenuous 4.8-mile hike at the Rocky Peak Trail in Simi Valley. Meet at 4 p.m. at the Rocky Peak trail head, end of Rocky Peak Road on the Santa Susana Pass. Bring water.

• Thursday, Dec. 27. Moderate 5-mile hike on Chumash trail. Meet at 6 p.m. at Chumash trail head, end of Flanagan Drive in Simi Valley, off Yosemite offramp. Bring water.
