Chatsworth prep school offering open house

An independent school in Chatsworth is opening its doors to parents interested in a college preparatory education for their children.

Chatsworth Hills Academy, serving about 300 youngsters from kindergarten through eighth grade, will welcome visitors to their 16acre campus on Wednesday, Nov. 28 and will have additional open houses in December and January.

According to the school's mission, CHA is dedicated to fulfilling a child's intellectual, social and physical potential in a positive, supportive environment. In addition to college preparatory curriculum, CHA emphasizes character building.

"Through our character education program, values are identified and practiced throughout the close-knit and supportive early childhood through grade eight community," said Ryan McDaniel, admission and development associate. "Each eighthgrade student is prepared for successful admission to selective secondary schools and later to similar level colleges and universities."

CHA is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools and is accredited by both California Association of Independent Schools and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

The upcoming open houses are Nov. 28, Dec. 6, Jan. 14, Jan. 22 and Jan. 31 at 8:30 a.m. Call for reservations at (818) 998-4037.
