Hillside can never be restored to original state

Landscaping efforts by Larwin developers will never again match the once scenic splendor presented in the open space that surrounded Happy Face Hill nor will it reproduce the same sort of inspiration and joy for future generations to embrace.

For many years of my life that simple parcel of land adjacent to the freeway provided a thrilling and memorable escape from the cul-de-sacs and tract homes that continue to wrap this city at its perimeter.

While I certainly don't wish for the site to be left in its current state, the barren, unfamiliar wasteland depicted on the front cover of a recent Acorn does little but make my heart ache and question the decision-making that sees these kinds of actions through. David Percival Simi Valley
