Simi's Koizumi skating in Women's Four Nations Cup

Jessica Koizumi, a Simi Valley resident, is playing for the United States in the Women's Four Nations Cup, one of the world's premier ice hockey events.

The tournament, consisting of teams from the U.S., Sweden, Canada and Finland, is taking place in Leksand, Sweden, through Sunday.

The United States defeated Sweden 4-0 on Wednesday and lost to Canada 63 the following day.

The U.S. plays Finland on Saturday. Medal games will take place Sunday.

Koizumi graduated from Minnesota Duluth this year with a bachelor's degree in psychology. She's currently working on her Master of Education at Minnesota Duluth.

Koizumi plays for the Minnesota Whitecaps of the Western Women's Hockey League while also serving as a graduate assistant coach for the Minnesota Duluth women's ice hockey team.
