Program offers relief from utility bills

A counselor from Community Action of Ventura County is available to offer assistance to low-income clients needing relief from their utility bills at the Simi Valley Senior Center, 3900 Avenida Simi.

The counselor will determine if residents qualify for a Home Energy Assistance Program in which those eligible may receive a onceayear payment towards their gas or electric bill.

Applicants may also qualify for a free residential weatherization and energyrelated home repairs that may aid in reducing the cost of their utility bills.

The program is available until funding is exhausted.
