MC program gives students a heads-up on managing their finances

Money and Me, a financial literacy conference for high school seniors, will take place from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26 at Moorpark College, 7075 Campus Road, Moorpark.

The conference, created by Junior Achievement of Southern California and the Conejo Area Coordinating Team, will help participating students understand finances and learn how to manage their money.

Sessions offered include "Credit 101: The Power and Pitfalls," "Budgeting 101" and "Saving and Investing 101."

Students will also have the opportunity to gather information on financial resources in their communities. More than a dozen companies and educational institutions will be in attendance.

Closing session keynote speaker John Grace is president of Investors Advantage Corporation in Westlake Village. He has more than two decades of financial planning experience.

The conference is free to participating students. Junior Achievement is raising funds needed to provide the program to students. Sponsorships are available in the range of $100 to $5,000.
