Youth, 16, stabbed outside store

A 16-year-old Simi Valley boy was stabbed repeatedly as he left a store at 6:55 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7 accompanied by two male adults and a female adult.

The boy was confronted by a pair of juvenile Hispanic males upon exiting the store in the 2900 block of Cochran Street. One of the assailants held a sharp weapon, with which he stabbed the boy "multiple times," according to a report by the Simi Valley Police Department.

The victim was taken in his companions' vehicle to Simi Valley Hospital, where his condition was listed as guarded. The attackers fled on foot.

The attack is being investigated as a possible gang crime, and Simi police have asked that anyone with further information call the station at (805) 583-6950.
