Kiwanis tab new officers

Local Kiwanis members were recently honored at a luncheon sponsored by Kiwanis International CalNevHa District, Division 42 of Ventura County at the Glen Tavern Inn in Santa Paula.

Guests from the 15 area Kiwanis clubs and 84 club officers attended the event.

Outgoing Lt. Gov. Michael H. Wesner of Moorpark Kiwanis was one of the honorees.

Incoming officers were also inducted at the meeting. New club presidents include Bill Adams of Kiwanis Clubs of Camarillo, Ken Walker of Conejo Valley, Charles Kauffmann of Moorpark Kiwanis, Kathi VanEtten of Simi Valley and Don Hegarty of Thousand Oaks.

Division secretary Madeleine Kolodziej, a director of Kiwanis of Simi Valley, was also introduced.

The new lieutenant governor's first order of business was to secure the nomination of his successor in October 2008.

Wes Miller, a past president and member of Kiwanis of Simi Valley for 27 years, was nominated for the lieutenant governor post in October 2008. Miller is a well-known and active volunteer in the Simi Valley community and has served on the executive committee of the Simi Valley Days Foundation for more than 20 years.
