Lessons learned at landfill
 | | SO THAT'S WHERE IT GOES- Simi Valley fifthgraders and Girl Scouts, above, from left, Cassi, Charlie and Sarah, all 10, from Troop 878, try to get a better look from the van window during a driving tour of the Simi Valley Landfill last Wednesday. The tour was part of the girls' work towards their Bronze Award project, which is the highest award a Girl Scout can earn at between the fourth and sixth grades. Jackie, 10, right, gets up close to Paris, a falcon used by the landfill to ward off pesky sea gulls. |
