Foundation hosts fourth annual walk and carnival
Event is this Sunday; donations accepted in lieu of registration

CHARITY- A representative from Farmers Insurance presents a check to the Amanda McPherson Foundation during last year's fundraiser. The 2007 Amanda "Spreading Our Wings" Walk and Family Carnival will begin at 8:30 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 7 at Rancho Madera Park.

Amanda McPherson Foundation announced the fourth annual Amanda "Spreading Our Wings" Walk and Family Carnival is set for Sunday, Oct. 7 from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The approximately 2.5-mile walk will begin at 9 a.m. at the Rancho Madera Community Park, 556 Lake Park Drive, Simi Valley.

A family carnival will be available to all participants immediately following the walk.

The foundation is expecting more than 300 participants, families and businesses for this event. In lieu of a registration fee, donations will be accepted.

Nationally, donations to the foundation go towards research of velocardiofacial syndrome, a genetic birth defect, and viral myocarditis, sudden cardiac death. Locally, donations are used for education, especially by providing resources and support for children with special needs attending public schools in Ventura County.
