Pharmacy offers flu shots

CVS/pharmacy stores in Simi Valley will offer flu vaccinations in October.

Times and locations are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5 at 2825 Cochran St., (805) 5226904; and Saturday, Oct. 6 at 4440 Alamo St., (805) 522-3120.

The Centers for Disease Control recommends a yearly flu vaccination, especially for people ages 50 and older; people with chronic diseases such as diabetes, asthma and heart disease; and healthcare providers.

There may be age restrictions for the shot. The cost is $30 for cash patients and $27 for Extra Care Card Holders. Medicare Part B beneficiaries will be vaccinated at no charge provided their benefits are not assigned to a private HMO.
