Advisory board seeking applications

Applications are being accepted for positions on the Youth Employment Service Advisory Board, which promotes the hiring of Simi Valley youth, assists youth in understanding the needs of employers, makes recommendations to the City Council regarding youth employment in the city and conducts an annual job fair and interview skills workshops at local high schools.

The board needs representatives from these areas: two from Simi Valley Unified School District, three from local business, two members-at-large, one high school student and one alternative member-at-large.

The term of office will be for two years beginning Dec. 1.

The board meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 8 a.m. in the City Hall Community Room, 2929 Tapo Canyon Road.
