Task force must reveal its agenda

I have been reading with interest your articles, editorials and public opinion letters with regard to Waste Management's Simi Valley Landfill and the "task force" established by Councilwoman Barbra Williamson.

Landfill operations and future plans must be as transparent as possible and the public should be involved throughout the process. Councilwoman Williamson has appointed a "task force" ostensibly to be the public watchdog group. Nothing could be further from the truth.

The task force is nothing more than a group of people who are attempting to do whatever it takes to shut down Waste Management's operation but are disguising it as a group that is studying the issues. If the task force and Councilwoman Williamson were truthful they would admit that they only want to see the landfill closed.

They would also admit that the task force and the councilwoman are doing the bidding for Jim Dantona.

Barbra Williamson, task force members and Jim Dantona should be honest and let the public know just what their intentions are; and it is not to find what is best for the taxpayers of Simi Valley and Waste Management. Lee Hintlian Simi Valley
