The Fourth Annual Simi Valley YMCA Barn Party
Photos by Iris Smoot

UNLUCKY CARDS - Simi Valley YMCA employee Sonja Marotta giggles as executive director Mark Elswick cringes after losing a card game at the fourth annual Simi Valley YMCA Barn Party on Saturday evening. The barn party is the YMCA's largest fundraiser of the year and includes casino games, food, raffles and the "Bail and Jail," in which, for a small donation, guests can have the person of their choice "jailed" in a cardboard jail cell.
COWPOKES- Above, Simi Valley YMCA Barn Party "Sheriff" Dave Demaio and YMCA Aquatics and Youth Sports director Zak Howell, both of Simi Valley, join John Wayne and the other cowboys for a night of fun, with casino games, barbecue, raffles and a silent auction. Below, Demaio shows the accused, executive director Mark Elswick, the rules of the "Jail and Bail" game, as Elswick fumbles for his "Presidential Pardon."
