Why can't we all take pride in our neighborhoods?

In reading the Letters section of the Aug. 31 Simi Valley Acorn, I could not help but add my thoughts regarding "Enforcement of laws . . ."

I am a homeowner, and I am always concerned about property values as the real estate market changes. I take pride in my home: cut my lawn, keep paint looking new, keep trash in cans and upkeep on fences and cement.

It seems my neighbors- who are homeowners as well- cannot take the same pride in their property, which affects others' property values. While I have attached a photo to this e-mail, I know that it would not be proper to publish it in your paper. However, maybe it would embarrass my neighbors enough to actually keep their property clean and in check.

What is it with some people? Don't they know there are other people in the world? Randy Campbell Simi Valley
