YMCA offers child care before and after school
Give your kids a safe place to go

The Simi YMCA provides after-school child care at 11 public schools in Simi Valley and before-school child care at three locations.

After-school child care is available at: Abraham Lincoln, Arroyo, Atherwood, Berylwood, Hollow Hills Fundamental, Justin, Katherine, Santa Susana, Simi, Sycamore and White Oak elementary schools.

Beforeschool care is available at: Berylwood, Katherine and Justin elementary schools.

Serving Simi Valley since 1984, the YMCA child care curriculum addresses the physical, mental, spiritual and social development needs of a child in an age-appropriate format. The staffing ratio is one program leader or aide to 10 children at each site.

"Our trained and licensed staff ensures that children are in a safe, supportive and caring environment," said Lisa Tate, senior program director. "We involve families as much as possible when planning and evaluating program activities."

Daily curriculum includes academics, nutrition and hygiene, physical education, cultural awareness and values. Each site is licensed by the State Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division and is partially funded by the State Department of Education, Child Development Division.
