The Strathearn Park and Museum will host the annual History Day during Simi Valley Days on Sunday, Sept. 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 137 Strathearn Place behind K-Mart.

At History Day, visitors may learn more about the city's roots while having fun.

Two special performances will entertain all ages in the newly remodeled Visitor Center:

Beth Miller from Dudley House Museum will demonstrate and discuss "Toys and Games From the 19th Century" at noon. Miller will host a trip down memory lane with stories and actual playtime with some of the most beloved toys and games of the past.

The Simi Settlers Radio Club will present the history and technology behind amateur radio broadcasting at 2 p.m. Club members will demonstrate live broadcasting throughout the day.

During History Day, guests may take self-guided tours to all the historic buildings from Simi's past on the grounds. Docents will be stationed at all sites for assistance.

Club groups and individual collectors will host displays. Model A and Model T Fords will be shown by Simi Valley Model A Club.

Vintage British Motorcycles will also be shown. TopaTopaFlywheelers and the newly-formed Branch 183 of the national engine EDGEPA Club will display vintage tractors and engines.

Horseshoeing demonstrations will be given and food vendors will be on site.

Entry is $5, which covers all performances, demonstrations and tours. Proceeds support education and restoration efforts at the park.
