Enforcement of laws not consistent

I have lived in Simi Valley for 14 years now.

Despite the rapid growth, it's still a good community to live in.

However, the inconsistency in which the city operates in regards to enforcing regulations/ ordinances is often frustrating.

For example, I have neighbors that are generally good people, but will not abide by the rules, i.e. having multiple inoperable vehicles on their property, parking huge RVs in their driveways and accumulating junk in their backyards/side yards that can be seen from the street.

Even more frustrating is I witnessed a city worker pulling yard sale signs off traffic-light poles, when liquor and cigarette stores are allowed to place cigarette ad signs adjacent to sidewalks where kids walk to and from school.

Where's the consistency?

If the city is going to enforce yard sale signs, how about passing a law that forbids and fines businesses that place cigarette advertising beyond their storefront? Mark Thompson Simi Valley
