Simi Valley troop keeps active helping the community

SILVER SMILES- Troop 96 members are presented Silver Award.
Girl Scout Troop 96 of Simi Valley announces that this summer four of its Cadette members were awarded the Girl Scout Silver Award, the second highest award of Girl Scouts. The award is for 11- to 14-year-old girls and honors their accomplishments in Scouting and community activities.

The Silver Award winners are Marisa Blomenkamp, Hayley Johnson, Cassandra Mann, and Kaitlyn Murphy.

For the award, the troop planned and hosted a Mother Daughter Princess for a Day Tea on April 28.

The tea had 150 attendees representing all Girl Scouts from Daisy through Seniors.

Troop 96 conducted manners and etiquette lessons throughout the event. Attendees made a tiara, body glitter and a tissue paper flower for their mother or grandmother to thank them for bringing them to the tea. Lunch was served while the attendees learned about tea and listened to a princess storyteller.
