Elks Lodge golf tournament to aid charities for disabled kids The Simi Valley Elks Lodge No. 2492, in conjunction with Simi Valley Days, will host a golf tournament Monday, Sept. 24 at Simi Hills Golf Course, 5031 Alamo St. Check in time is 6:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 7:30. The event is a scramble tournament and includes competition for net team score (several places), hole-in-one, closest to the pin on par 3's, longest putt, and longest drive. A donation of $125 includes green fee, shared cart, and lunch at the Elks Lodge immediately following play. Businesses and individuals are invited to donate items for the raffle prizes, such as gift certificates or golf-related products. The fundraiser benefits Elks' major project charities that helps children with cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy and post-polio, as well as in-home physical therapy, speech therapy and preschool vision screening for families in rural areas who live too far from hospitals for treatment. The services provided are free of charge to these children. For more information, to make a donation or to register for the tourney, call Tom Robertson at (805) 527-8007. |
