Habitat to break ground on three new Simi homes

Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County will build three houses for low-income families in Simi Valley.

House sponsors will gather with city officials, Habitat volunteers and families to break ground for these homes at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15 at 3454 Royal Ave.

Speakers at the event will include city officials, sponsors, volunteers and the future Habitat for Humanity families.

Attendees will use shovels to break ground for these homes, officially kicking off the start of construction.

The Simi Valley Development is a partnership with Starbucks, Simi Valley Moorpark Association of Realtors, the Conejo Valley Interfaith Coalition and Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County.

Habitat volunteers will build three single-family houses on the corner of Royal and Sequoia avenues in Simi Valley.

More than 1,500 volunteers will assist in the completion of the Simi Valley development.
