Helping hands needed for SV Days parade Volunteers are needed for the 75th annual Simi Valley Days Parade starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15. The parade is part of the Simi Valley Days celebration and carnival on Sept. 12 to 16. Slots need to be filled for chairperson positions, judges, spotters and parade lineup coordinators. "It requires about 30 to 40 volunteers to man this parade. And because we are marking the 75th anniversary for this annual event, we are expecting more parade entries than in past years," said Robert Noorigian, Simi Valley Days Parade chair. The parade route travels along Los Angeles Avenue, starting at Erringer Road and ending at Sinaloa Road. "This is just a fun parade for the community, and the residents of Simi Valley look forward to the parade every year," said Noorigian. Local businesses, churches, service organizations, law enforcement agencies, service men and women, local dignitaries and children's organizations such as the YMCA, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts are among the annual parade entrants. For information about volunteering, call (805) 581-4280 or e-mail Noorigian at parade@ yourhomeloanarranger.com. |
