Be a Pooh bear in a play

The Elite Theater has put out a casting call for an intergenerational cast in the play "Winnie the Pooh." Auditions are 6 to 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 13 and 14 at the theater, 730 S. "B" St., Oxnard.

The play is from the stories of A.A. Milne and dramatized by Kristin Sergel. The director is Gai Jones.

Auditioners must be available for callbacks on Wednesday, Aug. 15 from 6 to 7 p.m.

Actors must be available for all rehearsal dates: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Aug. 20 through Sept. 13 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, Sept. 17 to 26.

Performance dates are Sept. 27, 28, 29 and 30, Oct. 4 (pickup rehearsal), Oct. 5, 6, 7, 12, 13 and 14.

Those coming to audition must bring a small picture of the actor's face for the director to keep and a calendar/day planner for August through October.

Actors under the age of 14 must bring parent or responsible adult to attend the auditions. All actors must stay for the entire audition time.

There will be sides for the actors to read from at the auditions.

The following roles are open: Christopher Robin, Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Owl, Eeyore, Kanga, Roo, Rabbit, four roles for small rabbits and extra animals.
