In favor of dog park at Big Sky, not skate park

I don't agree with the letter published in the Aug. 3 edition of the Acorn, "Since when did we start putting dogs before humans?"

Big Sky is a peaceful, nice, quiet area. There are beautiful softball fields up there and an incoming dog park.

I don't think Carrie Viveiros should say all dogs bite and kill. That's like saying all skateboarders cause trouble.

I think there should be a skate park, but not up in Big Sky.

We need a place that has a lot of extra space. There should be no fees to skate there. It should also be a populated area so the kids will be in a safe environment.

If they build a skate park, there will be less damage in other parks.

There should be a place for everyone to do their favorite hobby in Simi. Parks should serve the community by having space set aside for many interests.

However, I don't think Big Sky is the place for a skate park. Let's all make Simi a better community by helping other people do what they love to do. Kylee Malouf, 12 Simi Valley
