Rotarians help needy kids find the right fit

The Rotary Club of Simi Sunset accompanied 25 members of the Boys & Girls Club of Simi Valley to Mervyn's on Aug. 1 to purchase backtoschool shoes.

Rotarians assisted the children in finding the right size and style of shoes. The students also received a free backpack.

"The kids were so excited and had a terrific time picking out their own shoes. It was great to see the smiles as they showed their new shoes to each other," said Linda White, Boys & Girls Club CEO.

Participating Rotary members were Jan Meek, Cindy Belmonte, Rob Keegan, Jill Haney, Mercedes Maldonado, Karen Stewart, Mark Medina, Lynda Nickolai and her son Bryan Sarfaty
