Free swim days offered at the Y

Families are invited to cool off from the summer heat during Simi Valley Family YMCA's Summer Family Splash, taking place from 4 to 6 p.m. Sundays, Aug, 12, 19 and 26 at the YMCA's indoor swimming pool at 3200 Cochran St. in Simi Valley.

Families can take part in recreational swimming and games in the pool. Each Sunday has a theme: Aug. 12, "Treasure Island;" Aug. 19, "Family Team Games;" and Aug. 26, "Super Soaking Splash."

YMCA membership is not required, and participation is free. Certified lifeguards will be on duty.

The program is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Santa Susana.

No reservations are necessary. Swimmers need to bring a towel and swimsuit.
