Canright skating at X Games

Simi Valley High's Roy Canright will compete in a best trick high school skateboarding competition during tonight's X Games at the Home Depot Center in Carson.

Canright is one of seven members of the California High School Skateboard Club who were selected to take part in the event, which is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m.

There will be 10 total skateboarders from Southern California competing, said CHSSC founder Jeff Stern.

The CHSSC held its events this season at Skatelab in Simi.
