Moorpark College dance concert coming up

The Dance Department at Moorpark College will present its Summer Dance Concert as part of the Summer Arts Festival, an evening of original works, Thursday through Saturday, Aug. 9, 10 and 11, at 8 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center, 7075 Campus Road.

The evening will include ballet, modern, hip-hop, belly dance and lyrical jazz in original works by student choreographers, guest artists and faculty.

The department's newest fulltime faculty member, Beth Megill, will perform a solo titled "Redlight."

Student choreographers presenting works are Christine Kerrigan, Imani White, Deanna Hallum and Kristin Rice.

Faculty choreographers include the college's Director of Dance Robert Salas, Jennifer DeBritton Ward, Nancy Paradis and Megill as well as guest artist Christopher Smith.

Tickets are $16 general public and $9 students, seniors and staff.
