Police in search of local couple gone missing
Investigators seeking assistance from the public

Barbara and Robert Callender
Local law enforcement is looking for information into the whereabouts of a Simi Valley couple gone missing since Saturday, July 28.

Robert J. Callender, 63, and Barbara Callender, 62, were last seen at 11 a.m. that day. Robert was known to be at his business in Burbank and Barbara spoke with family from her home on Saturday.

"Missing persons are very difficult to investigate," said Sgt. David Livingstone.

According to police, the couple's black Jeep Grand Cherokee, with a personalized license plate ISSG, is missing from the Callenders' home.

Family told authorities that it is totally out of character for Robert to miss work and scheduled business meetings and for either of them to not contact their family when leaving town.

"It's not normal for people to just not show up for work," Livingstone said.

Police have not seen any evidence suggesting foul play or a crime, but Livingstone said the circumstances are just "very unusual."

Police are now looking into bank records to see if there has been any activity since the couple has gone missing.

Anyone with information related to the whereabouts of the Callenders should contact the Simi Valley Police Department immediately at (805) 583-6950.
